Seatwise is a seating-chart maker that runs in your browser. Paste the guest list, lay out the tables, set who sits together and who does not, press Auto-seat, then print the floor plan, the per-table lists, a find-your-seat board and an escort-card CSV.
Building and auto-seating a chart is free, with no account and nothing uploaded; the guest list stays on your machine, which is the answer most corporate clients are looking for right now. The Planner licence is a flat $49 a year: printing and every export, on unlimited events, with your own name and logo on each plan you hand a client, caterer or venue.

Prismm accounts lose the ability to create new events, rolling out account by account.

Seatwise already keeps your events side by side — press Events beside the event name to switch between a Saturday wedding, a Tuesday gala and next month's conference dinner. The Planner licence turns on printing and the exports for all of them at once, instead of a $12 key each.
Set your studio name and upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP logo once. Every printed floor plan, per-table list and board then carries your branding instead of ours — the client sees your studio on the paper that reaches their table.
The scaled floor plan, per-table guest lists for catering, the printable alphabetical “find your seat” board, and the escort-card CSV your stationer can merge. PDF and CSV, both of which vendors already accept.
Planner email goes to the top of the queue and is answered by the person who wrote the software, same or next working day. If an export misprints, tell us within 14 days and we refund it in full — and fix the cause.
No login, no password to leak on the morning of an event, no server holding a client's guest list. Plans live in your browser's own storage, and a backup file moves them between machines when you change laptop.
Seatwise re-checks your key roughly once a month, not every time you open it, so a ballroom with no signal does not lock you out mid-setup. Exports you have already made are yours to keep regardless.
Pro keys are $12 each and stay the right answer for a couple planning one wedding. If you are running five or more events a year — most planners, every venue coordinator — the flat $49 is cheaper and you stop thinking about it.
Guest lists export cleanly as CSV. Floor plans and seating rules do not migrate anywhere — not to Cvent's replacement, not to us, not to anyone. The work is re-entering them, so the job is to capture them while the old tool still lets you look.
In Prismm open Reports, set Report Type to Guests, choose your fields (name, party size, RSVP, meal, table assignment), Generate, then Export to CSV. Nothing carries between events automatically, so do it once per active event.
You will not re-import this anywhere, but you want the visual reference while you rebuild: table numbers, room shape, and where the doors, dance floor and head table sit relative to guest tables.
A CSV will not tell you that table 4 is a 72-inch round seating 10 and table 9 is a king's table seating 20. A plain list of table number, shape and capacity is enough, and it is the hardest thing to reconstruct from memory later.
Prismm does not export keep-together / keep-apart logic in any reusable form. Before you forget which constraints mattered, list who must sit together, who cannot share a table, and the VIP and head-table rules.
Floor plans, escort-card lists, place-card data. They are your fallback if a rebuild runs longer than you planned, and your record of what the client already signed off.
In whatever tool you pick, re-enter tables, seat counts and rules before you place a single guest. Getting the room right first saves doing the layout twice. In Seatwise that is: add tables, paste the CSV, set the pairs, then Auto-seat.
Start with your next three events, not your archive. Most of a historical event library is reference material that never needs to work again — and rebuilding it under deadline in November is how the October cutoff turns into a bad month.

Where the others are the better buy. PerfectTablePlan is a genuine one-time purchase — if you will use it for five years and never need it on a venue's laptop, it is cheaper than any subscription including ours. PlanSeats has built the most migration tooling and client-collaboration features around this moment specifically. And none of us, Seatwise included, replaces Prismm's full design suite: there is no 3D room rendering here, no AV or rigging diagramming, no room measurement, and no real-time co-editing. Seatwise does guests, tables, rules and print-ready exports. If that is what you actually used Prismm for — and for most weddings, galas and dinners it is — the rest was never the part you were paying for.
You do not need any key to judge this. Building the chart is free and unlimited: lay out the tables, paste the guest list, set the keep-together and keep-apart pairs, hit Auto-seat, and look at the result on screen. A key only turns on printing and copying the exports.
One email to a real person. Tell us roughly how many events a year you run and which tool you are leaving, so the reply is useful rather than generic.
Email for a trial key Or just open SeatwiseNo, and neither can anyone else — Prismm's floor-plan files do not import into competing tools, including Cvent's own replacement. Guest lists are different: export them as CSV and paste them straight into Seatwise. Tables, seat counts and seating rules are re-entered by hand, which for a typical 15-table event is a few minutes, not an afternoon.
In your browser's own storage on your own machine. There is no Seatwise account and no Seatwise server holding it, so there is nothing for us to lose, hand over or be breached for. You can demo that in airplane mode if a corporate client asks.
The flip side: if you clear your browser data the plans go with it. Use the built-in backup file to move events between machines or to keep an archive.
It renews yearly and you can stop it at any time. If it lapses, Seatwise drops back to free — you keep every PDF and CSV you have already exported, and your events stay in the browser, you just cannot make new exports until you renew. Nothing is held hostage.
Yes. Share a read-only link — the plan is encoded into the URL itself, so nothing is stored on a server — or send the PDF and CSV exports. Your Planner licence covers your own devices; a colleague working on the same event can open a shared link without any key.
A fair question to ask a small team in the month Prismm is closing. The honest answer is the business model rather than a promise: no servers to pay for, no investors expecting an exit, and a price set to be profitable from the first sale. And because exports are plain PDF and CSV and the plans sit in your own browser, the work you have done does not disappear even in the case where we do.
